“Music touches us emotionally, where words alone can’t.” ― Johnny Depp

You know it’s going to be a great day when, a notification pops up on your phone, from Bandsintown my favorite app, saying one of your favorite bands is coming to town for another concert. HELLO MOON TAXI CONCERT NUMBER FOUR!

-Energy of Self: Jamming to the music, excited

“And for that one moment while the music plays. You know who you are and everything you wish to be.”

Today my excitement is all thanks to music. I have exactly four days until Music Midtown, just found out Moon Taxi is coming back to Atlanta in November, AND Vance Joy tickets for next March go on sale in just one week.

Music is my release and my therapy to every problem, a situation, relationship, or memories. It takes you back to a moment in time and expresses the feelings you could never put into words. Some songs just give you this feeling you can’t describe because they feel as if they were written specifically for you. It’s amazing that people you’ve never met write songs that can define you or moments in your life.

This year I’ve dedicated to going to every concert and music festival that presented itself. I wouldn’t even let the fear of going to any of these events by myself. It was only going to about the music. The best part about seeing live music is being surrounded by people who share the same passion and emotion as you do.

I believe in music the same way people believe in fairy tales.

The next few months I have the shows I have to look forward to being Lord Huron, Moon Taxi, Young the Giant, Family of the Year, and Senses Fail. Who knows maybe even more because they bring me to my happiest place. Plus, it’s pretty cool to check out new and different venues to experience the vibes from each place from who I’m there to see. It’s been a pretty remarkable year with the memories each show has brought to my life forever.

“I love music. For me, music is morning coffee. It’s mood medicine. It’s pure magic. A good song is like a good meal-I just want to inhale it and then share a bite with someone else.” – Hoda Kotb
