Choose Your Words Wisely

“My task, which I am trying to achieve is, by the power of the written word, to make you hear, to make you feel–it is, before all, to make you see.” ― Joseph Conrad, Lord Jim

Words can leave you with a massive impact on your soul. The power they have over a person always seems to be underestimated and forgotten.

I always have the highest hopes that the words that were once like a gift to your ears don’t end up having a giant question mark at the end. You should never have to wonder if they meant something because the things that were said find a way to drift back in, and then you’re left to fixate on and pick apart the meaning behind everything.

For a lot of reasons, most of the time, what a person has said can invariably outweigh the negative actions that someone demonstrates towards you. The negligence they show is the complete opposite of what was said once upon a time. Whatever it is, and told by whoever that particular person is are forever locked deep down in your heart.

It’s the little record inside your head that breaks when the other person actions change from their words. The same thing keeps replaying over and over again to the point it feels permanently stuck in your head. That’s when you know it’s time to change the song in your life to something more upbeat. Pick something new, different, and mysterious to zone in on. It will bring you a different melody, and you’ll want that specific song to stay. It will replace the old song to something you wish to have played over and over again in your mind.

Words can change everything, and I wish people honored the significance behind what they tell a person. Mean what you say and say what you mean, because just because you act a certain way doesn’t always correlate with what they say,

Driving around at night while listening to my playlist that accompanies me each night for my drives helps me channel my most personal thoughts before going home and getting into bed. For some reason, everything just becomes so apparent to me.

Last night, I got to experience Lord Huron’s magic on putting his personal spin of on my exact thoughts. The way he writes and put things into play in his songs are just magic to me. He’s one of the biggest inspirations for me when it comes to writing. He compares a lot of his emotions to the moon, the sky, the stars, and romanticizes nature in a way you feel his emotions that he feels while singing that song. At times, I think to myself that he took the exact feeling from inside my heart and puts them onto paper. He’s helped me get through some of the hardest moments when I didn’t think there were any words for the way I feel.

Being able to translate your real passion to others is a rare beauty. You not only feel, but you see how transparent that person becomes all because they desire to illuminate their love for that one thing because it’s how they survive. If you say you love something, or that you’re passionate, but you’re scared to talk about it. Well, you might want to reevaluate how important it is to your life. It should feel as natural as waking up in the morning and going to sleep at night.

If you say that music is your passion then first you need to realize that you can’t just be passionate about the music, but about the artist as well. They are right there pouring their heart out to give you verses of a song to express your emotions and thoughts. When you have music, you’re never really alone because that song and the artists are right there going through it with you.

Through music, you can deliver a message with the words that help you in the moments when you can’t think what to say to express something.

Even when you’re sad, you can always find a good beat just to dance to in whatever way you feel and want to show. Dancing is letting your body have absolute control, and you can just free your mind as you move in all kinds of different ways the rhythm guides you physically.

Last night, it woke me up in a way I needed to handle and approach many aspects of my life. The bonus about last night was being able to see the moon shine so bright as if it was trying to send me a special message to the many questions I keep asking about life.

Be patient and share you dreams and passions they will take you on a path you didn’t even sense were an actual possibility.
